REMOS ascends to lead position in LSA sales

Pasewalk, Germany – In the six-month period, March through August, 2008, REMOS Aircraft took the lead in LSA sales in the United States. Rising from seventh position in the preceding six months, REMOS led all other LSA manufacturers in U.S. aircraft registrations and deliveries. The company has shipped nearly 300 aircraft to ports around the world.

Michael Meirer, American Director for REMOS, credits the performance and overall quality of the new GX model for the surge in sales. “REMOS offers the kind of handling and flight characteristics that sport pilots are looking for in an LSA,” said Meirer. “The aircraft has good penetration in turbulence, is very stable through final approach and touchdown, and it provides excellent visibility on the ground as well as in the air. The GX has the feel of a much larger aircraft.”

The fact that the entire airframe is made of carbon fiber provides strength and yields the highest useful load in the industry: 650 pounds. Even at full gross, a lit fuse on the REMOS presses pilot and passenger back into the plush leather seats for the short takeoff roll of 330 feet.

In level flight the REMOS sips a mere 2.9 gph. The 21-gallon fuel tank provides six hours of cruise with a reserve, exceeding most coffee-enhanced endurance. In that time frame, it can cover 550 nm, meaning it’s an aircraft capable of serious crosscountry flying as well as the rewarding pursuits of adventure flying.

For those who like to have it all, the REMOS will cruise comfortably anywhere between 50 and 130 mph. Though not certified for aerobatics, the GX has been tested to +8 and -4g’s. On landing the REMOS flares at 50, stalls at 45 mph. Cockpit comfort is another positive aspect in REMOS sales. Wider than a Beech Baron, with huge doors for entry and egress, the cockpit is sensibly laid out and well insulated for noise reduction.

“We anticipate holding the point position on sales through the coming year,” said Meirer. “REMOS GX just seems to give sport pilots more of what they got their license for in the first place.”
