AERO 2017: REMOS GXiS receives Ultralight Certification

Done! REMOS has received the German Ultralight Certification for the GXiS during AERO in Friedrichshafen. Michael Baetz (Deutscher Aero Club) handed over the Type Certificate Data Sheet to the engineers Christian Majunke, Daniel Browne and Paul Foltz.

The GXiS is the youngest member of the REMOS family – the maiden flight of this composite high-wing aircraft took place in May, 2016. It was followed by a successful flight testing campaign.

Under the cowling of the GXiS the Rotax 912 iS Sport (74 kW/100 hp) with electronic fuel injection can be found. Thanks to SMARTstart, a system developed by REMOS, it takes just one push of a button to start the engine. Almost all preflight checks are done automatically.

Recently REMOS has delivered the first serial production GXiS to a customer in Southern Germany. Certification as an European LSA is also on a fast track.

The image above shows the REMOS team during the handover. From left to right: Matthias Wolf, Susan Hibberd, Paul Foltz, Juergen Rehlaender, Christian Majunke, Daniel Browne and Michael Baetz (DAeC). Below you see the REMOS GXiS at the REMOS booth in hall B3 at AERO.
